Has nature gone crazy? We received a call today from a residential nursing home to say they were infested by flying ants. With a certain amount of doubt a visit was carried out and, sure enough, flying ants were the culprits.
Flying ants are winged fertile male and female insects, who swarm out of the nest usually in July and August to mate. To see them so early in the year is almost unheard of. Does this mean we are going to have a bad year for ant infestations? Who knows, but the omens don’t look good.
If you see what you consider to be an unusual number of ants, flying or otherwise, give us a call on 0121 693 6616. Alternatively, you can fill out one of our online contact forms and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
